One of my favorite movies is Chariots of Fire. The 1981 British film explores the stories of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams, two athletes in the 1924 Olympics. The film portrays Harold as a master of self-promotion. There was a reason why the press was so devoted to his running exploits and accomplishments - he was the author of many of the reports.
I was never comfortable with Harold's audacity. However, I have a friend in my life who has a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is a man of God. He is also excellent at promoting the work God has called him to do. I noticed today the articles that have been published about his latest book. I also noticed who the author was of those articles. :)
He is a man who has overcome "fear of man" issues. To tell the truth, Gramazin, and the impact it can have on lives, has been held back because I continue to struggle with such issues. Self-promotion? No way. Therefore, my friend is an example to me today. I cannot worry any longer what people may think of my self-promotion. If God has led me to create something good for His honor and glory, I need to share it.
I want to recommend my blog "Prayers for the World". I have been faithfully committed to this blog since October 14th. I read the news each morning and then write anywhere from 3 to 6 prayers about events, organizations, and people in the news. I have written over 150 prayers. This time next year, Lord willing, I will have written over 1,000 prayers about politicians, journalists, celebrities, laws, court decisions, athletes, royalty, countries, cities, governors, victims, mayors, legislatures, tragedies, and more. This blog is an extension of my two-volume book, Take Every Thought to Prayer. Why not take every news item to prayer? As I believe I was faithful to focus upon in the book, the focus of every prayer in this blog is on what is God's perspective.
I invite you to check out the blog and subscribe to it. Quite frankly, it will be an enjoyable read for anyone who is interested in a godly perspective on current events. I post sometime in the morning every weekday. God bless.
