Bio
In January 2021, Sarah Makin concluded four years of service in the Trump White House where her most recent position was deputy assistant to the president and senior director for strategic engagement on the National Security Council (NSC). In 2020, Makin was selected to serve as senior advisor to the president on international religious freedom. She served as the White House liaison for the ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom. Makin traveled twice to Iraq to advance the president's objective to resettle and secure Yazidi and Christian communities devastated by ISIS's 2014 genocide campaign.
