Dear Father, according to Open Doors USA, 322 Christians are killed for their faith each month. 214 ministry-related properties are destroyed. There are over 700 acts of violence against Christians. Persecution takes the form of hostility, discrimination, physical abuse, imprisonment, sexual abuse, and death. Christians in over 60 countries face persecution in their communities. In North America, where being a Christian publicly remains relatively safe (at least for the moment), it is easy to overlook the persecution our brothers and sisters in Christ are experiencing around the world. Father, give Your church in this nation a heart that is compassionate for the persecuted church overseas. May we pray for them. May we donate to or volunteer with ministries that help the victims. May we encourage our government representatives to do economic battle with those governments who refuse to respect human rights. Father, in gratefulness for our freedoms, may we take advantage of every opportunity that we have in the US to share our faith and to model the life of Christ with our neighbors. Father, I ask Your blessings today on persecuted Christians around the world. Rescue them. Protect them. Provide for them. Deliver them. Give them an abundance of courage, faith, peace, and joy. May their abusers be transformed by the authenticity of their faith. May the church explode because of the power of men and women to deepen their faith in You despite increasing affliction. Father, do miracles today for persecuted believers in North Korea, Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Eritrea, Libya, Nigeria, Maldives, Saudi Arabia, India, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Kenya, Turkmenistan, Qata, Egypt, Ethiopia, Palestinian Territories, Laos, Brunei, Bangladesh, Jordan, Myanmar, Tunisia, Bhutan, Malaysia, Mali, Tanzania, Central African Republic, Tajikistan, Algeria, Turkey, Kuwait, China, Djibouti, Mexico, Comoros, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Mauritania, Bahrain, Oman, and Columbia. Amen.
